23rd productions operated between 2007 and 2012 bringing ground breaking independent theatre to Brisbane. after sell-out seasons and multiple awards, they called it a day to work on other projects. This website is now an archive of those 5 years, maintained to inform and inspire. We hope you find it useful.

You will see many more names and faces than the 2 artistic directors. this is the 23rd family. Many worked over a variety of projects, some just on one. Regardless, the company's success was because of everyone who contributed to each production, large or small.

After being nominated for awards in 2009 for MOTORTOWN, on April 19th 2010,
23rd Production's THE PILLOWMAN walked away with 4 Matilda Commendation Awards.

BEST DIRECTOR: Michelle Miall – The Pillowman

BEST ACTOR IN A MAIN ROLE: Steven Rooke as Katurian in The Pillowman

BEST ACTOR IN A SUPPORTING ROLE: Chris Vernon as Michal in The Pillowman

BEST EMERGING ARTIST: Michelle Miall The Pillowman

Michelle Miall also received a special main Matilda Award for Direction.

23rd was nominated again in 2010 for BLACKBIRD.
