2011

23rd Productions returned to Metro Arts as part of their Allies program. Working with visual artists and using live projection with traditional foley techniques, they brought this avant garde look at our relationship to image to life in an art gallery.

2010

In 2010 23rd Productions was part of the inaugural season of independant theatre at La Boite. The second play in the La Boite Indie season was the Queensland Premiere of BLACKBIRD by David Harrower.

2009

23rd Productions completed its first full season and Metro Arts Company in Residence with the Queensland Premiere of The Pillowman by Martin McDonagh in March and April 2009.

As part of the Metro Arts creative development festival FREE RANGE, and then as part of Brisbane Festival
BF09 UNDER the RADAR fringe festival, 23rd Productions created and staged its first ever new work: my night with harold in September 2009.

 

2008

2008 marked 23rd Productions' first full season. As a lead up to the main production for the year it has mounted 2 short seasons of staged readings of contemporary work in the Studio Metro Arts.

Cool Britannia I was at the end of March 2008, featuring Cigarettes and Chocolate by Anthony Minghella and Dying for It by Moira Buffini. Cool Britannia II was at the end of May 2008 and featured The People Next Door by Henry Adam and Alaska by DC Moore.

23rd Productions staged the Queensland premiere of MOTORTOWN by Simon Stephens from the 6th to 16th August 2008 in the Sue Benner theatre, Metro Arts Brisbane.


 

 


 

2007

In 2007, the company debuted with ‘Closer’ by Patrick Marber. It played from the 8th - 18th August 2007, in the Studio Metro Arts, Brisbane. It featured established and emerging creatives, and the season was sold-out. It received excellent reviews and great encouragement for the future of 23rd Productions.
